NOTICE OF EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ELECTION FOR DUBLIN, MIDLANDS-NORTH-WEST AND SOUTH CONSTITUENCIES
We hereby give notice that an election of members of the European Parliament is to be held in the above constituencies. If the election is contested, a poll will be taken on the 7th day of June, 2024 between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
To be eligible for election a person must be either a citizen of Ireland or a national of another Member State of the European Union ordinarily resident in Ireland.
A person may nominate himself or herself as a candidate or may, with his or her consent, be nominated by a proposer who is a registered European elector in the relevant European Parliament constituency.
A nomination form from a candidate of a registered political party must have a Certificate of Political Affiliation attached which must be produced to the returning officer for your constituency with his or her completed nomination paper.
If no certificate is attached, the candidate must, before the latest time for receiving nominations, either -
- secure 60 assents to the nomination by way of statutory declarations by European electors registered in the relevant European Parliament constituency (forms available from the returning officer for your constituency or the registration authority), or
- make a deposit of €1,800 (deposit may also be made on the candidate’s behalf).
A national of an EU Member State, other than Ireland, intending to be a candidate, must deliver to the returning officer for their constituency, with the completed nomination paper, a statutory declaration regarding their eligibility for election.
If a candidate wishes to be entered on the ballot paper as representing a registered political party, a Certificate of Political Affiliation must be produced to the returning officer for the constituency with the completed nomination paper.
If a non-party candidate who is a sitting MEP wishes to have entered on the ballot paper the European Parliament political group or the name of the European Political Party of which he or she is a member, a Certificate of European Political Affiliation must be produced to the returning officer for the constituency with the completed nomination paper – see section 3(b) of the notes on the nomination paper.
If a candidate wishes to have his or her photograph included on the ballot paper, one photograph in digitised format and two identical printed copies must be produced to the returning officer for the constituency with the nomination paper. The technical requirements for the photographs are set out in section 4 of the notes on the nomination paper.
Replacement candidates may be nominated by registered political parties and non-party candidates.

Nomination period for Irish Citizens
Completed nomination papers for Irish citizens may be delivered to the returning officer for the constituency in person by candidates or their proposers at any time when that returning officer is at his office from 10am on Monday 15th day of April 2024 until 12 noon on Tuesday the 30th day of April 2024.
The returning officer will attend to receive nomination papers for Irish citizens at the relevant address below between 10am and 12 noon and between 2pm and 5pm on Monday 29th day of April 2024 and between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesday the 30th day of April 2024.
Nomination period for other EU Nationals
Completed nomination papers for other EU Nationals may be delivered to the returning officer for the constituency in person by candidates or their proposers at any time when that returning officer is at his office from 10am on Monday 15th day of April 2024 until 12 noon on Monday the 22nd day of April 2024 which is the latest time for receiving nominations.
The returning officer will attend to receive nomination papers for other EU Nationals at the relevant address below between 10am and 12 noon and between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 20th day of April 2024 and between 10am and 12 noon on Monday 22nd day of April 2024.

Tugaimid fógra leis seo go bhfuil toghchán d'ionadaithe chuig Parlaimint na hEorpa le bheith sna toghlaigh thuasluaite. Má bhíonn an toghchán faoi iomaíocht, tógfar vótaíocht an 7ú lá de Mheitheamh, 2024 idir na huaire 7.00 am agus 10.00 pm.
Le bheith incháilithe le toghadh caithfidh duine a bheith ina shaoránach nó ina saoránach de chuid na hÉireann nó ina náisiúnach de Bhallstát den Aontas Eorpach agus gnáthchónaí a bheith air nó uirthi in Éirinn.
Féadfaidh duine é féin nó í féin a ainmniú mar iarrthóir, nó féadfaidh moltóir a bheidh ina thoghthóir nó toghthóir Eorpach cláraithe sa toghlach é nó í a ainmniú lena thoiliú nó lena toiliú.
Ní mór deimhniú cleamhnachta polaitíochta a bheith ag gabháil le foirm ainmniúcháin ó iarrthóir de chuid pháirtí polaitíochta cláraithe agus caithfear iad a thabhairt ar aird cheann comhairimh an toghlaigh lena pháipéar nó lena páipéar ainmniúcháin comhlánaithe.
Mura mbeidh aon deimhniú tugtha ar aird ní mór don iarrthóir, roimh an am is déanaí chun ainmniúcháin a fháil, ceachtar den dá rud seo a dhéanamh –
- 60 aontú leis an ainmniúchán a fháil trí dhearbhuithe reachtúla ó thoghthóirí Eorpacha a bheidh cláraithe i dtoghlach ábhartha Pharlaimint na hEorpa (tá na foirmeacha ar fáil ó cheann comhairimh an toghlaigh nó ón údarás cláraithe), nó
- Éarlais de €1,800 a íoc (is féidir éarlais a íoc thar ceann an iarrthóra freisin)
Caithfidh náisiúnach de Bhallstát ach amháin d'Éirinn, a bheartaíonn a bheith ina iarrthóir nó ina hiarrthóir, dearbhú reachtúil maidir lena incháilitheacht nó lena hincháilitheacht do thoghadh a sheachadadh ar cheann comhairimh an toghlaigh in éineacht leis an bpáipéar ainmniúcháin comhlánaithe.
Más mian le hiarrthóir go gcuirfí isteach é nó í ar an bpáipéar ballóide mar ionadaí ar pháirtí polaitíochta cláraithe, caithfear Deimhniú Cleamhnachta Polaitíochta a thabhairt ar aird cheann comhairimh an toghlaigh in éineacht leis an bpáipéar ainmniúcháin comhlánaithe.

Féadfaidh páirtithe polaitíochta cláraithe agus ionadaithe neamh-pháirtí iarrthóirí ionaid a ainmniú.
Is féidir foirmeacha pháipéir ainmniúcháin, dearbhuithe reachtúla agus liostaí iarrthóirí ionaid a fháil, saor in aisce, ar an suíomh gréasáin seo nó óna seoltaí thíos i rith uaire oifige.

Beidh an ceann comhairimh i láthair chun glacadh le páipéir ainmniúcháin do shaoránaigh Éireannacha ag an seoladh cuí thíos idir 10am agus 12 meán lae agus idir 2pm agus 5pm ar an Dé Luain 29ú lá d’Aibreán, 2024 agus idir 10am agus 12 meán lae ar an Dé Máirt 30ú lá d’Aibreán, 2024.

Beidh an ceann comhairimh i láthair chun glacadh le páipéir ainmniúcháin do Náisiúnaigh eile den AE ag an seoladh cuí thíos idir 10am agus 12 meán lae agus idir 2pm agus 5pm ar an Dé Sathairn 20ú lá d’Aibreán, 2024 agus idir 10am agus 12 meán lae ar an Dé Luain 22ú lá d’Aibreán 2024.

We will ONLY accept applications made through this website so please do not phone or write to us looking for work. Please note that we do not carry applications forward from one election to the next so if you applied for work at any previous election and were not offered a job then you will need to re-apply if you wish to be considered for work at this election.
N.B. You are not eligible to work at this Election if you are canvassing for any candidate or for either side in any referendum which may be held on the same day.
